What is Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?

Pelvic floor therapy is a specialty area addressing conditions and issues related to the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding tissues. It is reported that 1 in 4 women will suffer from pelvic floor dysfunction in their lifetime, yet these concerns are often left overlooked and unaddressed.

Many people forget that the pelvic floor is compromised of skeletal muscle. Just like muscles in any other area of the body, you can relax, work, and strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor! In pelvic floor therapy, we utilize education, hands-on therapy, and specific exercise to improve your symptoms and quality of life. No more feeling embarrassed or scared!
